How energy flows through living things such as food chains and food webs. (7.5C)
So...Where does this plant energy go?
Energy in Food Webs.
A food web illustrates the flow of energy and the relationship between biotic (living) and abiotic (nonliving) things in a biosphere. It is important to remember that only about 10% of the energy is transferred from one organism to another. So grass only absorbs a small percentage of the available radiant energy from the Sun and cows only gain 10% of the energy from eating the grass and so on up the food web.
